Take a stroll through Downtown Clayton to visit the many quaint specialty shops, restaurants, library, an ice cream shop, weekend farmer's market, jewelry stores, and more than a dozen personal care businesses. Some of Clayton's oldest businesses are still in operation today. You can also take in a jazz concert, musical or show at the Clayton Center, a former elementary school that now serves as a center for the arts. Several community parks offer walking trails, ball fields, tennis courts, a dog park and playgrounds.
For those times when only the big city will do, you can drive about five miles to White Oak Shopping Center in Garner. The plaza boasts national retail shopping, dining, and entertainment venues such as a cinema. For even more options, hop on nearby Interstate 40 and drive 20 minutes to downtown Raleigh or any of the surrounding Triangle communities.
The neighborhood of Winston Pointe is a quiet, wooded area just off of Winston Road. Most homes have 3-5 bedrooms and start in the $250's. Homes range in size from 2300-3500+ sq ft. Construction began in the early 2000's at the Guy Road back entrance, and is now taking place at the front of the neighborhood near Winston Road. All of the assigned schools for Winston Point residents are within three miles of the neighborhood. Many people move here from neighboring counties so their children can attend Johnston County Schools.
